I hold a Ph.D. in medieval history from the University of California at Santa Barbara and a master’s in the same from the University of Illinois. In my eleven years of teaching, I graded literally thousands of student papers on everything from content, argument, and organization to style, spelling, grammar, and punctuation (and I was not an easy grader). I also taught research seminars in which I worked one-on-one with students, teaching them how to conduct research, analyze evidence, develop and defend their arguments, and express their ideas more effectively in writing. Additionally, I have my own extensive experience researching and writing in the academic world. In the 11 years I have been working as an independent academic editor, I have also edited hundreds of documents for many dozens of clients and have extensive experience with ESL writing in particular. I am located in the greater Providence, Rhode Island, area.
